  34. Although VGA is backward compatible with all previous standards, with the creation of 8514/A, IBM has decided to create a new "standard".  It is a PS/2 MicroChannel-based card.

  36. 8514/A supports 1024 X 768 pixel resolution in 16 colors (or 256 with upgrade).  It drives an interlaced display ‚Äì every other line in the display is refreshed every other scan of the electron gun.
